Ashley Calhoun was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2009 to study audio engineering at The Los Angeles Recording School. After graduating, Calhoun landed a job as Assistant for Cash Money Records Head of A&R, Joshua Berkman. Always interested in music publishing, she transitioned into publishing in late 2011, joining Rondor Music as Creative Manager. During her tenure at Rondor, Calhoun worked with a wide variety of songwriters, including Prince Charlez, Sonny Digital, Rahki, The D.O.C., and Metro Boomin, to name a few. In the June of 2015, Calhoun joined PULSE Music Group as Creative Director, where she has since signed Starrah, Dave East, DJ Esco, OG Parker, Brent Faiyaz, Verse Simmonds, G. Koop, OZ, and more. She also manages multi-Grammy Award winning producer, Rahki, and multi-platinum selling producer, G. Ry. Calhoun was promoted to Vice President of A&R at PULSE in 2017, and Vice President of the entire company in 2018. Her roster of songwriters have contributed to several hit singles, including Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B’s “Girls Like You”, Migos ft. Drake’s “Walk It Talk It”, Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” ft.
